YTR Motorsports is established since 2006.
The Shop is based out of ICAR circuit in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada, our 3000 square feet race facilities, included all the equipment to build and maintain most racing cars such as nascar, rally car, touring and Formula car (Formula Ford, FF2000, Star Mazda, Atlantic, IndyLight, IndyCar,..).
His owner, Yvan Turcotte, is a well-known engineer and car builder in the world of Motor racing in North America.
He built his reputation working for teams in Champ Car, IndyCar, IndyLight, Formula Atlantic, Formula Star Mazda, Formula BMW, Formula F2000, touring car and Canadian Formula Ford as an engineer, a crew chief, a chief mechanic and as a driver coach.
In 2008, YTR Motorsports registered a BMW Touring car in the Castrol Canadian touring Car championship with David Bensadoun as a driver, 1 podium and six top 5.
In 2009, YTR Motorsports join effort with GT Racing as co-owner to compete with driver: Etienne Borgeat (car#2), David Bensadoun (car #14), Paul Dalla Lana (car #15), and Greg Pootmans (car #16), 7 pole position, 8 wins, 21 podiums.
In 2010, YTR Motorsports is back in force and will prepare 3 BMW for the Canadian Championship, the same BMW who arrived 2nd (Pootmans), 5th (Bensadoun) and 8th (Dalla Lana) last season.
In 2011, YTR Motorsports got a new challenge DAKAR, joining effort with team Rallyraid UK, we enter 3 Desert Warrior (tow rigid axel and a new experimental independent suspension). Geoff Olholm (#413) from Australia finished 27th position in the new independent.
In 2012, YTR Motorsports got a new goal; be the first Canadian team to finish the Dakar in car, David Bensadoun, and navigator Patrick Beaulé, car number 457 reached their goal and finished the Dakar in 40th position.
In 2013, YTR Motorsports got Back to Dakar with David Bensadoun and navigator Paul Round (owner of Rallyraid UK), Patrick Beaulé doing it in bike to become the only Canadian to have finish Dakar in car and bike, Yvan Turcotte owner of YTR Motorsports did it in truck to become the first Canadian to finish it in truck class and the 9th Canadian overall to finish Dakar.
In 2014, YTR Motorsports went back to Dakar, with David Bensadoun, and navigator Patrick Beaulé. The Dakar got the best of the mechanic with a DNF after day 5, but we are back to work, sold the independent Desert Warrior, we are shopping and trying to get a better car for next year. The car will be prepared by YTR Motorsports shop in Canada
